CAT COAT CARE: What’s going on with your cat’s coat?

Every cat needs different care. These are the coat problems owners come to us with most often.

Coat is tangled or matted

Knots, tangles or matted fur that can no longer be safely brushed out at home.

Coat is tangled or matted

Your cat is shedding a lot

Short-haired cats shed too. De-shedding removes dead hair and excess undercoat.

Your cat is shedding a lot

Coat is greasy and clumped

The coat loses its softness and shine, sticks together and becomes tangled more easily.

Won’t tolerate grooming at home

Brushing, nail trimming or everyday care turns into a struggle? We know how to work with cats that find grooming difficult.

Won’t tolerate grooming at home

A GENTLE APPROACH: Calmer for your cat,
easier for you

The result matters, but so does the experience along the way. That’s why a groomer and assistant work together, give your cat the time they need and adjust the pace to their reactions.

Want to see how they're doing?

On request, we'll send you a photo or short video while we work

  • GROOMER + ASSISTANT

Two people care for your cat. The groomer can focus on the coat and grooming itself, while the assistant helps keep the process safe and gentle.

  • CALM ENVIRONMENT

We give your cat the time and space they need, allowing us to work carefully and without unnecessary rushing.

  • CARE TAILORED TO YOUR CAT

Coat condition, temperament and your cat's reactions during the session guide the technique and pace we choose.

CAT COAT TYPES: Different coat,
different approach

Long-haired cats

Long, thick coat

Maine Coon · Ragdoll · Norwegian Forest · Siberian · Persian · Neva Masquerade + more

Long coats need care from root to tip

A long, thick coat calls for a thorough routine. We start with a professional brush-out, removing dead coat and gently working out tangled spots. Depending on the care you choose, we then degrease, bathe, dry thoroughly and comb through the coat.

HOW IT WORKS

  1. Brush-out
  2. Detangling
  3. Degreasing
  4. 2 baths
  5. Drying + combing

Complete care includes

  • Nail trimming
  • Ear cleaning
  • Sanitary trim if needed

  2. 2. We’ll recommend the right care and find a time

Based on your cat’s coat type and condition, we’ll recommend the right care and find a suitable appointment with you.

  3. 3. Bring your cat in

We’ll take care of everything during the appointment. You don’t need to hold your cat or stay at the salon.

  4. 4. Pick up your groomed cat

Clean, thoroughly brushed and groomed according to what their coat actually needed.

ADDITIONAL CARE: When your cat needs a little extra care

Matted fur, sanitary trims or nail trimming - we’ll recommend the right solution for what your cat needs.

Cat with matted fur

Matted fur and more demanding cases

We first assess the tangles and matted fur. Where possible, we gently brush the coat out. When brushing out is no longer suitable for the cat, we recommend another solution.

We choose the gentlest solution based on the condition of the coat and what is manageable for the individual cat.

Cat sanitary trim

Sanitary trim

As needed, we can shorten the fur under the tail, tidy the “britches”, or remove excess fur between the paw pads.

Less litter sticking to the coat and easier hygiene at home.

Cat nail trimming

Nail trimming

We trim the nails as part of our complete care. If you only need a small touch-up, please let us know in advance.

PRICING: How much does cat grooming cost?

I had scheduled for a wash & trim for our Maincoon. Very caring, sending pictures during the process and so on point with the communication, so everything was just great! Very happy with the result and definitely will use again! Totally recommended!

My cats were more then satisfied and so was I!))) The ladies are very upbeat and friendly and the shampoos that they use will leave you wanting to eat your pet up on the spot🤣😻

Zatím nejlepší zkušenost s péči o kocoura. Po vyčesání a koupání (včetně stříhání drapků a úpravy tlapek) byl moc klidný a veselý, paní jsou hrozně milé a bez problémů odpověděly na vše, vzaly v potaz všechny poznámky, ukázaly vybavení a pochválily kočičáka. Takže nemám obavy a určitě se vrátíme. Děkuji! 😻❤️

Do cats need professional grooming?

Not every cat needs the same care. For long, dense or heavily shedding coats, though, professional brushing helps remove loose undercoat, prevent matting and keep the coat in good condition. We always choose the care according to the coat type and the individual cat.

How often should I take my cat to the groomer?

It depends on the length and density of the coat, shedding, care at home and whether your cat gets mats. Some cats are fine with a visit when needed, others need more regular brushing. After the first visit we'll recommend an interval for your cat's particular coat.

How do I care for the coat of a Maine Coon and other long-haired cats?

Long, dense coats need regular, thorough brushing, especially where mats form easily, such as behind the ears, in the armpits, on the belly and on the hind legs. For breeds such as the Maine Coon, Ragdoll, Norwegian Forest or Siberian cat, we adapt the care to the density of the undercoat and the current condition of the coat.

Does a matted cat always have to be clipped?

Not automatically. First we assess what can be brushed out safely and what would mean needless pulling and stress for the cat. With a heavily matted coat, it can be kinder to shorten part of the coat than to try to brush out every mat at any cost.

Do you use sedation when grooming cats?

No, we don't use sedation. We work with the cat awake, calmly and according to what she can handle; if she is too stressed or it isn't possible to continue safely, we won't finish the procedure at any cost.

What if my cat is timid or doesn't like strangers?

That's common with cats, and we adapt our approach to it. We work calmly, without needless rushing, and respect the individual cat's boundaries. We care for cats separately from dogs, so they have the calmest possible environment during care.
